The County Assembly of Turkana has adjourned for an early recess some Members of County Assembly(MCAs) and staff tested positive for Covid-19.
In a communication to Assembly, Speaker Ekitela Lokaale said some MCAs and staff had tested positive and therefore the assembly was scaling down operations for 14 days.
He said the Assembly was proceeding on long recess and will resume sittings on Tuesday, 9th February 2021.
“However members may be recalled during the recess if there is any urgent business to be transacted by the house through a special sitting,” said Lokaale.
He said the measures had been taken to protect MCAs, staff and Turkana residents.
