Residents living with disabilities in Elgeyo Marakwet County have a reason to smile after the County Women Rep donated wheelchairs for them.
Over the weekend, Elgeyo Marakwet Women Rep Jane Chebaibai donated donated four wheelchairs to different families with PWDs.
Speaking in Sambirir, Marakwet East when she donated two of the wheelchairs to two children aged 8 and 12 years, Chebaibai said the assistance will help the vulnerable children get mobility.
“A number of people in the county are unable to move around because they lack mobility. Through the NGAAF we identify those with mobility difficulties so that they can be assisted with wheelchairs,” she said.
Chebaibai said this was part of her vision to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable persons with disabilities.
