Baringo County Assembly adjourns for two weeks following rise in Covid-19 cases

Baringo County Assembly has adjourned its sittings for a period of two weeks following the rise of Corona Virus cases in the county.

While moving the adjournment motion, Leader of Majority Lawi Kipchumba said that the move will see MCAs work from home to stem the spread of the virus in the county.

He said the County Assembly is a high risk area due to huge number of people who walk in and out of the buildings every day.

He said the members and other staff’s health was paramount therefore the move was necessary to safeguard on their wellbeing.

Other operations at the County Assembly have also been suspended with the staff advised to start working from home for the period the Assembly will be on a temporary recess.

Baringo County has recorded a rise in Covid-19 cases with the latest five including senior executive officers.
