As campaigns for the August general elections hots up across the country a number of political aspirants are finding it difficult to maneuver through hostility.

On Saturday Former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey found himself in an awkward position after he was treated to a hostile reception at his own backyard in Himaki shopping centre, Nandi Hills constituency.

Kosgey, who is eyeing the Nandi Governor’s seat, was heckled by rowdy youth who chanted slogans in praise of the incumbent Governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat.

The Former long-serving Tinderet MP’s attempts to calm the hostile crowd hit a snag and was forced to leave without making any address at the shopping centre.

He and his convoy were on a campaign tour in his Nandi Hills home turf, a few weeks before the party primaries.

Kosgey is eyeing the coveted Jubilee ticket against the incumbent Governor and his 2013 political rival Nandi Senator Stephen Sang in a one of the hotly contested gubernatorial races in the North Rift region.
