Uasin Gishu Jubilee Members of County Assembly have re-elected Josphat Lowoi as the majority leader.

The ward reps picked Karuna/Meibeki Ward Member of County Assembly Josphat Lowoi, an ally of Governor Mandago, to continue as the local assembly majority leader.

Mr Lowoi got 27 votes beating his fellow contestant Mr Gilbert Tenai (Cheptiret/Kipchamo Ward) who received 15 votes.

The election was conducted at the Travelers Hotel in Mombasa.

Mr Lowoi said he would use his position to continue ensuring the people of Uasin Gishu get services delivered to them.

“I am delighted to continue serving as the majority leader in the county.” said Mr Lowoi.

The majority leader is expected to resume office on Tuesday 19, when the house resumes its normal sitting.

Kapsaos MCA Hosea Lamai was unopposed to retain his position as the Deputy Speaker while Ngeny’ilel MCA David Kiptoo Sing’oei also retained his position as the Chief Whip.
