Members of Uasin Gishu county assembly on Thursday passed the 2017/18 Financial Year county budget estimates of Ksh 7.4 billion that has proposed a reduction on the executive expenditure.

The County Finance and Economic Planning CeC Shadrack Sambai had tabled the budget before the Assembly outlining key priority areas that the County government intents to focus on in the next financial year

Water, Roads, Trade and Health sectors were allocated the lions share of the budget that will be funded largely by the National government through the Equitable share of Kshs 5.9 billion and a local revenue of Kshs 1 billion.

The County will also receive Kshs 221 million for Roads Mantainace levy, Kshs 30 million from World Bank under Kenya Devolution support program and Maternal Health care fund of Kshs 117 million.
