Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has declared intentions to defend his seat.

Speaker Terer made the announcement on Wednesday saying his record as the assembly boss in the last five years speaks for itself.

“I diligently served this assembly and I believe that I still have more to offer this county and that is why I have offered myself for re-election as speaker,” he said.

His announcement will now end speculations on the role he will play after his loss of the Kesses parliamentary seat in the recently concluded general elections.

The county assembly boss urged Uasin Gishu County residents to support his bid for reelection and exuded confidence that the Members of County Assembly will renew his term.

Speaker Terer’s surrendered official vehicle

Last week, Terer surrendered his official vehicle as he kicked off campaigns to reclaim the seat. His supporters have since taken to social media praising him for the act with slogans such as “Terer Tano Tena“.

Under Terer’s stewardship, the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu was ranked as the best performing in the country in terms of the number of bills and motions passed.
