Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Hassan Abdi has said they have put elaborate measures to ensure peaceful elections.

“We have deployed more offices to man the county before, during and after election. Any form of violence or hooliganism will not be tolerated,”he said in Eldoret, Wednesday.

“We will also deploy police officers in the 530 polling stations to maintain law and order. County security team is alert therefore no cause of alarm,” he added.

He however urged politicians to conduct their campaigns peacefully and refrain from using utterances that might trigger violence.

“Those who will be found inciting or causing violence during the electioneering period will face the wrath of the  law,” noted Hassan

“I want to issue a stern warning to politicians fond of using incitive utterances that they will be arrested and charged,” warned Hassan.
