Mogotio MP Hellen Sambili had dismissed reports she has pulled out of the race to defend her seat in support for another candidate.

In a statement through her Facebook page, Prof Sambili said her opponents, who fear her candidature, have been spreading rumours to instil fears among her supporters that she was not cleared to contest as an Independent candidate.

“I want to state clearly that I am firmly in the race and progressing well with my campaigns,” Prof. Sambili said.

Prof. Sambili who decamped from Jubilee citing irregularities during the party primaries sought to clarify that she was cleared by IEBC to run as an Independent candidate for MP Mogotio.

“I hereby wish to advise my competitors and the public to avoid any form of violence, character assassination and focus on their agenda and manifesto for the people of Mogotio,”she added.

The legislator will face off with Daniel Tuitoek who is gunning for the seat on a Jubilee party ticket and Kanu’s candidate Dr. Noah Chepkech.
