The Jubilee party has announced it will hold its nominations on Friday April 21st, 2017.

In a press statement dated Wednesday March 29th, 2017, Jubilee Party announced that Winnie Guchu has taken over as the new Executive Director of the party. Several directors have also been been appointed to head the directorships in the party.

“Only party members who are registered voters will vote during the nomination,” said the statement signed by the party’s Secretary-General, Raphael Tuju.

The party has already submitted a membership list to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The list, which will be used during the nominations, constitutes 7.5 million members.

The statement indicates that the list includes all new members and all members of constituent parties which merged to form the Jubilee Party.

County Elections Boards will play an oversight role during the nominations to ensure impartiality.  The party has set up strict measures to ensure free and fair nominations.

“Watertight and disciplined procedures have been setup to ensure democracy and accountability. No party member will be disenfranchised,” read the statement.
