Kitale town witnessed a show of political might on Saturday as incumbent Governor Patrick Khaemba launched his re-election bid with a mega rally attended by NASA bigwigs.

Speaking during the event held at the Kitale showgrounds, Governor Khaemba called on his supporters to grant him another chance to better their lives.

The county boss used the event to enumerate his achievements over the five years he has been in office, including the multi-billion referral hospital and modern bus park.

“I am sure the people of Trans Nzoia will give me another term to complete the work I began, I know my development record speaks for itself,” said Khaemba.

He said his administration has also improved access to water and helped land owners acquire title deeds among other notable projects.

The event was attended by thousands of his supporters and opposition leaders who drummed support for Khaemba’s reelection.

The leaders included; NASA principal Senator Moses Wetangula (Bungoma), Senator Bony Khalwale (Kakamega), MPs Ferdinand Wanyonyi (Kwanza), Dr. Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini) and Wafula Wamunyinyi (Kanduyi) and Bungoma gubernatorial aspirant Wycliffe Wangamati.

Khaemba is facing stiff competition from Jubilee’s Maurice Kakai Bisau in a race that pits NASA versus Jubilee. Just a day ago President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto visited the county where they urged residents to support Bisau.
