Former Industrialization Cabinet Minister Henry Kosgey on Friday graduated with a doctorate from the Management University of Africa.

Kosgey, who has hinted that he will contest for the Nandi Gubernatorial Seat, was among graduands conferred with a doctorate degree and now becomes PhD holder from the university.

The Former Longest-serving Tinderet MP attended Lelwak Primary and later Kilibwoni Primary for his primary school education.

For his “O” Level secondary education he attended Kapsabet High School. He then went to Strathmore College in Nairobi for his “A” Levels.

He then studied at the University of Nairobi where he graduated with a degree in Chemistry. He later won a scholarship to attend Ballarat University in Australia, where studied and obtained a postgraduate degree.

Kosgey had hinted a month ago that he will be vying for the top seat in the coming general elections.

He had disclosed that he had taken a low profile and had been away from the political scene for sometime to concentrate on his PhD studies.

Wonderful Mheshimiwa. I am pleasantly surprised to discover you are an Alumnus of Strathmore College. No wonder you have been reading while your contemporaries are busy politicking. You must have picked a cue from the College’s founding Principal who went for his PhD when he was well into his 60s in order to fit into teaching and governance as the College changed into a chartered University. As you know, that former principal is not only a full professor at SU but also Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, at a time when former students (half his age) are going into ‘retirement’!
